Mission Statement

To awaken God's people to His calling and inspire them to explore His purpose for their lives through His Word and music.

Our History

Brian & Carol Yaiser grew up with fathers who were passionate about music and learned to love all types of music, from classical to country. Both participated in school, church & community choirs but especially loved musicals in high school.  You never know what will be playing at their house.  Every room could have different types & styles of music, from vinyl to tape to Cds.  Every one in the family has taken piano lessons and all the kids play at least one other instrument.   “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord”…all it takes is “One Small Voice to teach the world to sing”. (from the Sesame Street song by Kenny Loggins)  The Yaiser kids were exposed to music before they were born!  Music appreciation begins in the womb, then rhythm develops with pots & pans as toddlers…and it’s said that the last sense to go is your hearing.

Nine years ago, the Yaisers were inspired to start "Yme? Ministry", a music ministry, while traveling back & forth to their Thousand Islands cottage.  Why that name? The question is obvious, the answer is Isaiah 43:1: "...Fear not for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine”.  How many times during our lives do we ask - why me?  In the good times - why me? - how did I get so lucky?  And in the bad times - why me? - what did I do to deserve this?  God's answer is always the same.  Our Heavenly Father responds the same way earthly fathers do - "Because I said so".  It's His plan.  The "Yme?" Ministry Mission Statement is: “To awaken God's people to His calling and inspire them to explore His purpose for their lives through His Word & music.”  In addition to Brian, Sr. performing each week at Jorstadt Castle on Dark Island for Sunday services, they held a summer concert on the island with boats docking from both the U. S. and Canada.  The Yaiser family has sung as a group and individually in a wide variety of venues regionally, including churches, coffee houses & community concerts.  Brooke released her first CD on her 16th birthday last year and has had many wonderful opportunities to perform with local and national artists such as Lee Greenwood, Kelly Lang & Denise Davis.

It’s truly a family experience when Brian, Sr. takes the helm for concerts as the MC, the culmination of many months of coordination & planning for the staff & volunteers.  Carol is the coordinator and keeps everybody on task.  Michael, their oldest son, went into promotion work professionally, first with KISS 98.5 and Star 102 radio and now is Promotion Director for Six Flags Darien Lake.  But, he & his wife, Kim still come back to help out with the technical side, running the sound system or cameras, if needed.  Brooke a high school junior is as comfortable working backstage and lighting as she is performing. A freshman, Brian, Jr. helps out wherever he’s needed and also recruits his friends for “roadies”. Blair, a seventh grader, has been Mom’s back up with the on-sight organization and has recently begun assisting the lighting technician.

In 2006, Yme? Ministry officially became a 501(c)3 non-for-profit organization and has recently organized the Board of Directors. The ministry currently has two divisions, Yme? Productions, which produces both Yme? Events and Yme? Charity Events.  And We have begun developing Studio 5:19, which encourages Christian music artists, showcasing them not only for Yme? Productions, but other venues as well.

Last fall, Douglas Spears jumped in with both feet to the position of Executive Director and has become invaluable to Yme? Ministry with his enthusiasm and talents.  The entire ministry is staffed by Yme? volunteers.  For the Yme? Charity Events, Yme? volunteers are joined by volunteers from the charity benefiting from the proceeds of the event  As part of the ministry, Yme? has organized 10 concerts in the last three years that have raised more than $75,000 for local non-for-profits groups, including the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Challenger Sports League, Inc., American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, Equi*star Therapeutic Riding Center and Fundatias Seceris - a Romanian mission to orphans.
